Olivier Kueny joined AMEA Power as Chief Investment Officer in January 2017. In this role, Olivier oversees the evaluation of new investment opportunities and the execution of transactions.
Prior to joining AMEA Power, Olivier held a Director position within HSBC Project Finance team in London and then in Dubai. Olivier originated and executed landmark advisory transactions in the Power, Oil & Gas and Infrastructure sectors in the MENA region. He notably led the financial advisory to ENEC 5,600MW Barakah Nuclear Power Plant project in the UAE, BAPCO 380mbpd refinery expansion project in Bahrain, ONEE 850MW Phase II windfarm in Morocco, Al Nowais Investments 2,640MW Ayoun Moussa IPP in Egypt, KAPP 500,000m3/d Umm al Haymann wastewater plant in Kuwait. In addition, he acted as financial advisor or lender on several IPP and IWPP bids in the MENA region.
Before his MBA, Olivier was an Operations Manager at the EDF Nuclear Power Plant in Bugey, France where he supervised the energy output of two 900 MW nuclear reactors. In this role, he received direct delegation from the power plant director to make real-time decisions regarding operational and nuclear safety risks inside the power plant.
Olivier received a Master's Degree in Science and Executive Engineering from Mines Paristech in 2000 and an MBA with Distinction from London Business School in 2010. He is a native French speaker and is fluent in English.
